What are “Weingarten Rights”?
If an employee has a reasonable belief that discipline or other adverse
consequences may result from what he or she says during an investigatory meeting
with a supervisor, the employee has the right to request union representation.
This includes what has commonly become known as fact finding meetings.
Note: the employer has no obligation to
inform workers of their right to request union representation.
